Certification in the EAEU
EAC Certification Countries
The Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia (now the Eurasian Customs Union) came into existence on 1 January 2010. The Customs Union's priorities were the elimination of intra-bloc tariffs, establishing a single customs territory sharing unified customs legislation and duties.
As a further development, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) came into force on 1 January 2015 adding Armenia and Kyrgyzstan to the original Customs Union countries (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan).
Uzbekistan is currently an observer member and is expected to obtain full membership by 2022 or 2023.
Certification requirements in EAEU countries
It is very important that companies operating in these countries meet their safety regulation requirements in the form of a valid and correct conformity assessment. Technical Regulations of the Customs Union (TR CU) were chosen as the format for the unified requirements. These are general guidelines for assessing the safety of different types of equipment crossing the borders and operating in the EAEU.
Each specific type of equipment assumes compliance to certain standards as laid down by the Eurasian Economic Commission.
From 2016 the unified Technical Regulations became applicable for countries of the EurAsian Economic Union (EAEU): Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. All new Technical Regulations coming into force are referred to as TR EAEU.
The TR CU and TR EAEU technical regulations replace the former national certificates (GOST R, GOST K, and Russian CTR certificates).
Goods destined for the EAEU market shall be EAC-marked (EurAsian Conformity), regardless of the origin of the goods. EAC marking can be applied to products compliant with all applicable CU and EAEU TR’s.

Gas fuelled equipment (TR CU 016/2011)
Electromagnetic compatibility of technical devices (TR CU 020/2011)
Safety of equipment operated under pressure (TR CU 032/2013)
Liquefied HC fuel gases (TR EAEU 036/2016)
Restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (TR EAEU 037/2016)
Fire safety and fire extinguishing equipment (TR EAEU 043/2017)
